Well this is not a first time Barside Buzz, but here it is again, rumors that Nic Cage is back as Ghost Rider in the MCU, possibly for Deadpool 3. There’s no mention of Deadpool in either of these latest Nic Cage/Ghost Rider rumors, but if it’s true then this certainly seems the most logical project. I can’t see Cage returning as Johnny Blaze for multiple movies in the MCU.
Let’s get to both rumors here. The first one from CWGST.
We then have MTTSH specifically mention Nic Cage.
Again, I’m using logic to place this possible appearance in Deadpool 3. For a start, the earliest rumors of Cage returning were linked with Deadpool 3. Secondly, this is a film that probably will have a level of bonkers beyond the average Marvel movie, so it fits. Outside of Cage being brought in as the MCU Ghost Rider, which seems highly unlikely, there’s also few other places I can imagine his presence making sense.
At the same time folks, this is hardly a smoking gun. Both these insiders have good track records, but hardly infallible. Equally, the Deadpool 3 rumors have started to become a little like Multiverse of Madness with crazy cameos. Very few of the rumored cameos in MOM happened, so pinch of salt for now.
I can’t honestly say Nic Cage returning would actually interest me outside of Deadpool 3 either. Again, that movie is going to be pretty bonkers if any of the rumors are true. Therefore I could see Cage returning being fun in that movie, I’m not sure I’d feel the same elsewhere. I’m far more interested ultimately in finding out who the MCU Ghost Rider will be.
